Call it kimono, shawldigan, even cardigan… The thing is that this oversized vaporous oriental piece of clothes has become one of the must-haves of this season. First spotted with cutoffs at summer music festivals and from there it conquers the street. Whichever the island or cool holiday place you are, all fashionistas wear this item this summer. You can choose the style which best fits your needs: fringe or not –it depends on how bohemian you are – it also comes in long and short lengths; choose your pattern… Combinations are endless!!

Pick your boots and give it a hippie touch; add on it a belt and use it as a oversized dress matched with high heels; put your Fedora hat on you or if you want to wear comfortable clothes match your shawldigan with a jumpsuit; 100% comfort.

Shawldigan and Jumpsuit by Lady Marshmallow

Lady Marshmallow has betted on this item from the very beginning of our collections. In the shape of an ‘historical gallery’ we want to show you all our shawldigan designs since we started in the fashion world and we received the boho-chic influence to create them.

This season we decided to mix it up with one of the more popular blooms: flowers! So, our SS13 shawldigan is plenty of flowers, the femininity power is in the house once again! But if the shawldigan doesn’t convince you enough we have the same pattern for our long dress. Team ‘Kimono’ or Team ‘Dress’?

But we are not the only ones who have dared to bet on this item, other well-known fashion brands have showed this item on his SS13 fashion runways: Prada, Etro, Roland Mouret, Lanvin, Emilio Pucci or John Galliano are a sample of that.

No excuses not to wear kimono this summer if you call yourself fashion lover. They also did it.

Who said nude is not a fashionable colour anymore? At least the star system who was in Cannes this year didn’t.

What at first looked like a coincidence at The Great Gatsby premiere when Carey Mulligan appeared in that nude dress, actually it wasn’t. Some of her colleagues followed that trend as well:  Elizabeth Debicki – it seems she was with difference the tallest at the Awards- or Sarah Marshall’s dress -who looked as if she were still in the shooting set of the film-. Dress code for The Great Gatsby premiere: tuxedo for him and nude for her.

As we suspected it wasn’t by chance, from that moment on, Cannes became a catwalk of nude dresses.

Claire Julien did it with a long tail dress and Olga Sorokina surprised us with another nude dress but in this case with XL black appliqués on the shoulders. The Great Gatbsy nude influence went through other Premiers, as The Bling Ring or Le Passe ones, where we saw some examples of that.

Other models were wrapped with this light colour at the ceremony: the spectacular Dutch model Doutzen Kroes arrived at the red carpet in Jolie’s style, showing the long length of her stylized leg with a nude dress from Atelier Versace.

Not only the red carpet was plenty of nude touches but also parties. The one organized by Calvin Klein the Millennium American Girl, Rooney Mara, was wearing a nude total look, simple but effective.

Spanish team was pervaded with pale rose as well, and they really suited them. Paz Vega, already worldwide known, was wearing an astonishing nude dress, which seemed designed specially for her.

But for spectacular dresses the one that Solange, also called Beyonce Jr., picked. The new IT singer left us open-mouthed with this amazing Stephane Rolland Haute Couture dress.

Doesn’t matter if you are tanned or not, nude is the colour for your events. If you thought this colour was extinguished, not my dear, get your nude dresses back from your closet.

That’s why Lady Marshmallow reedits one of the classics, Lucy dress. It is back to our stock and it has everything you need to succeed: nude, one shoulder and adorable design.

Red carpet is not just at the cinema events, it has a direct competitor, the MET Ball, a glamorous catwalk of outfits and celebrities, and altogether. What can you expect from an event organized by Vogue? Nothing else than the most fashionable celebrities. If cinema events show all the star system in action, here you can find fashion in motion.

As it is well known, the Ball is themed every year related to what Costume Institute Exhibition is showing, so this year is time to get rebel, punk is not dead. If last year was the feminine power with two muses as Schiaparelli and Prada, this year is time to become insurgen, Punk: Chaos to Couture.

Punk Studs, burgundy lips, zippers were the must-have of the event. Although the new item to be added to the punk list is ear cuffs. A big number of celebrities wore this jewelry piece.

One of the outfits which suited best with the theme of the Ball was the one from Nichole Richie. After lots of hours tanning herself, she decided to contrast her skin with a Topshop dress and she added a touch of punk with ear cuff.

But we should admit that one of our favorite ones, and one of the most according outfits to the party theme is the Wes Gordon dress which was worn by Constance Jablonski. She did not miss the key accessory of the night either: ear cuffs.

Who we are not sure she really understood what punk is was Miley Cyrus, well I would say what Fashion is. Not because the fact of emulating the spiky hair of Sid Vicious means you are a punk girl. Even the Marc Jacobs dress she wore and the ear cuff didn’t improve what was going on up to her face.

Miley Cyrus MET 2013

We don’t know if it is because of her youth but another actress who don’ t understand what punk is is Elle Fanning. Fortunately her ear cuff gives her a touch of elegance. She made a combination between a Cindy Lauper make up and a hippie die-tied dress from Rodarte.

Elle Fanning MET 2013

If it is a fashion party you need models to give cache to your event. The starts of the night? Cara Delevingne (in Burburry Prorsum) – she is in all things –, Karolina Kurkova who wore a Mary Katrantzou dress or the 90′ s supermodel Linda Evangelista (in Marchesa ) were wearing ear cuffs.

Actresses also appeared at the event, and most of them were wearing this jewelry item, obviously each of them in a different and own style: the original inner ear jewelry in a shape of a wing that Mad Men’s Jessica Pare chose; the always well dressed Jessica Alba gets a perfect outfit again which matches with the ear cuff or the American actress January Jones who mixed a sparkling black Chanel dress with an original make up and an ear cuff. Although Bella Heathcote dress wasn’t the ‘punkiest’, Bella Heathcote’ helped herself to get the look with an enlarged eye line and an ear cuff.

However the pioneers of ear cuffs were the actresses Siena Miller and Diane Kruger. It is not the first time they have appeared at an event with this jewelry item.

Siena wrapped by Burberry Prorsum (it seems that Cara and her went to the same shop to buy her Met outfit), she matches her multiple spikes on her outfit with her ear cuff made by Genevieve Jones. Was for this reason that they finished the night kissing each other?

The other wise choice of the night, and the Lady Marshmallow favorite one, came from Diane Kruger: pink dyed hair on the ending, Chanel dress SS13 and ear cuff, she arrived late at the event, but she hit the carpet.

Lady Marshmallow wanted to join this fashionable jewelry, so… why don’t we add this item to our new collection? We’ve got two versions… the spiky one to follow this punk trend or the native version to get your Music Festival outfit. Which one is your fav one?
