Red carpet is not just at the cinema events, it has a direct competitor, the MET Ball, a glamorous catwalk of outfits and celebrities, and altogether. What can you expect from an event organized by Vogue? Nothing else than the most fashionable celebrities. If cinema events show all the star system in action, here you can find fashion in motion.

As it is well known, the Ball is themed every year related to what Costume Institute Exhibition is showing, so this year is time to get rebel, punk is not dead. If last year was the feminine power with two muses as Schiaparelli and Prada, this year is time to become insurgen, Punk: Chaos to Couture.

Punk Studs, burgundy lips, zippers were the must-have of the event. Although the new item to be added to the punk list is ear cuffs. A big number of celebrities wore this jewelry piece.

One of the outfits which suited best with the theme of the Ball was the one from Nichole Richie. After lots of hours tanning herself, she decided to contrast her skin with a Topshop dress and she added a touch of punk with ear cuff.

But we should admit that one of our favorite ones, and one of the most according outfits to the party theme is the Wes Gordon dress which was worn by Constance Jablonski. She did not miss the key accessory of the night either: ear cuffs.

Who we are not sure she really understood what punk is was Miley Cyrus, well I would say what Fashion is. Not because the fact of emulating the spiky hair of Sid Vicious means you are a punk girl. Even the Marc Jacobs dress she wore and the ear cuff didn’t improve what was going on up to her face.

We don’t know if it is because of her youth but another actress who don’ t understand what punk is is Elle Fanning. Fortunately her ear cuff gives her a touch of elegance. She made a combination between a Cindy Lauper make up and a hippie die-tied dress from Rodarte.

If it is a fashion party you need models to give cache to your event. The starts of the night? Cara Delevingne (in Burburry Prorsum) – she is in all things –, Karolina Kurkova who wore a Mary Katrantzou dress or the 90′ s supermodel Linda Evangelista (in Marchesa ) were wearing ear cuffs.

Actresses also appeared at the event, and most of them were wearing this jewelry item, obviously each of them in a different and own style: the original inner ear jewelry in a shape of a wing that Mad Men’s Jessica Pare chose; the always well dressed Jessica Alba gets a perfect outfit again which matches with the ear cuff or the American actress January Jones who mixed a sparkling black Chanel dress with an original make up and an ear cuff. Although Bella Heathcote dress wasn’t the ‘punkiest’, Bella Heathcote’ helped herself to get the look with an enlarged eye line and an ear cuff.

However the pioneers of ear cuffs were the actresses Siena Miller and Diane Kruger. It is not the first time they have appeared at an event with this jewelry item.

Siena wrapped by Burberry Prorsum (it seems that Cara and her went to the same shop to buy her Met outfit), she matches her multiple spikes on her outfit with her ear cuff made by Genevieve Jones. Was for this reason that they finished the night kissing each other?

The other wise choice of the night, and the Lady Marshmallow favorite one, came from Diane Kruger: pink dyed hair on the ending, Chanel dress SS13 and ear cuff, she arrived late at the event, but she hit the carpet.

Lady Marshmallow wanted to join this fashionable jewelry, so… why don’t we add this item to our new collection? We’ve got two versions… the spiky one to follow this punk trend or the native version to get your Music Festival outfit. Which one is your fav one?
