Last Thursday, I went to the city to look after some summery fabrics, with a Vintage touch, to design some Lady Marshmallow swimwear. And yes, I did find some amazing 60s style textiles, so hopefully, by June I could put them on sale and do a little photo shooting. I also came across, a heavenly bag my mum has kept for ages, with old golden navy buttons, and others, that I will definitely use on my collection.

By night, I attended a fashion event with my friend Tatiana, that Urban Woman magazine (a free fashion local mag) organized on one of my favorite places in Alicante, the Concerto Club.

The place was great, with an amazing beach style display at the club front window where the models posed as maniquies. However I was very disappointed on the event it self, as all the bikinis they presented, were very boring, granny, and old fashion. Also the models were a bit dull, so, I guess I’m not in the right city to expect something cool and edgy, regarding fashion events, such as in London, where I used work and study fashion for over five years.

Even though I did tons of pictures, this is the only bikini that could please me a bit.

On my next post, I have selected some of my favorite swimwear brands and bikinis that are a must for this Summer 2010, so don’t miss them out, and let me know what’s your favorite ones.

The super-cool now a day world’s fashion muse, Alexa Chung will be designing her own clothing line for the American brand Madewell and will be simply called Alexa Chung for Madewell, following the steps of  fashion icon Kate Moss, that has her own clothing label at Topshop.

This is becoming so “à la mode” in the fashion industry so let’s bet who’ll be the next icon to be spotted by a famous clothing brand !!!

I cant’ wait for the launch of the collection, due by September 2010, however a bit disappointed to know that they only sell it in US, Canada and Tokyo. Anyways, good excuse to go to New York next fall.

What really grabbed my attention was the description of her clothing line, it seems like she rode my mind. “Dungaree dresses, oversized biker jackets, printed T-shirts, high-waisted pants and jeans, velvet dresses decorated with Peter Pan collars, vintage style coats, 40s tea dresses, 60s mod dresses”, ♥ it all.

Just for your information, I have two dresses on my Etsy shop, that are very similar to the dress in the fourth and sixth image, starting from up to down, left to right. Also, if you like Alexa Chung collection description for Madewell, you’ll have a good surprise with the first Lady Marshmallow collection, out in February.
